At MTV, we rejected the notion of 'Coming Out of a Closet' because no one should hide their gender or sexuality in such a dark, cold place. Instead, we launched a campaign urging people to "break the closet", bury it, once and for all. We features promos, visual idents, interstitial capsules, and an on-air playlist with LGBTQ+ inspired songs.
The results were outstanding, generating a significant buzz on social media about what was happening on-screen. In fact, we created this case study solely composed of tweets (100% real people's tweets) discussing the campaign:
